Community Support

There are many different ways to raise funds for Murlpirrmarra Connection. Here are some ideas to get you started!

  • Make a donation in lieu of a birthday gift, wedding gift or in memory of a loved one. Ask your friends and family for support.
  • Sausage sizzles are a low cost way of raising much needed funds. Contact your local shopping centre, sporting club or Bunnings/Masters store for a handy location to hold one.
  • Host a morning tea/lunch and ask workmates to bring in baked treats and charge a gold coin donation (or more!) to participate. Invite attendees to bring a dish form their country of origin, or somewhere they would like to travel to. You could also dress up for fun.
  • Have a ‘Well Being’ month and cut out chocolate, lollies, alcohol, cigarettes or whatever your weakness is for the month. Donate the money you would have spent to Murlpirrmarra Connection.
  • Sell all your unwanted household items via a garage sale, or online through Ebay or Gumtree.
  • Set up a sporting challenge and challenge a competitor club or business to participate. Donate participation fees.
  • Participate in a fun run/ walk for an organisation that will allow you to raise funds for the charity of your choice – ieMurlpirrmarra Connection.

Student Support

$10,000 per annum, per student

Murlpirrmarra Connection plays a mentoring and conduit role in the lives of young people, with an expected result of the young people successfully completing Year 12. MurlpirrmarraConnection representatives including a social worker, are available to provide assistance 24 hours per day/7 days per week for each young person to access.

An investment of $10,000 will help Murlpirrmarra Connection support and mentor one young person each year. Photos and updates on the young person’s progress will be provided.

Direct assistance to children with drug dependency

$30,000 per child, on an as needs basis.

Help a young person managed by Murlpirrmarra Connection who show signs of drug abuse access a  suitable rehabilitation clinic and support them through treatment.

Murlpirrmarra Connection’s Cultural Football Carnival

The yearly carnival brings together young players from the WilunaMartu Eagles and the DalkeithNedlands Junior Football Club/Subiaco Giants Junior Football Club in a unique team-building weekend that combines highly skilled football with educational activities and plenty of fun for all.

It has rapidly become a major event on the junior football calendar and an important celebration of team spirit, cultural understanding, respect, and healthy living. The events which take place on the June Long Weekend each year are packed with activities, including team building exercises, cultural awareness sessions, and tours of the area where the game is played. The games have been played in locations such as Rottnest Island, Dwellingup, and Dalkeith, and in alternate years are held in Wiluna.

The annual carnival culminates with the highly-anticipated football match between the two young teams and the presentation of the Wilson–Dawson Perpetual Cup.

School Holiday Programs

$5,000 - 10,000 per program

We help create engagement opportunities with young people, teach sporting accreditation skills and encourage healthy behaviours and increase motivation of young people  to encourage them to remain in educational facilities.
