Murlpirrmarra Connection is committed to assisting young Aboriginal people in remote and regional Western Australia to access a wide range of educational and employment opportunities based on their aspirations.

We build strong and authentic relationships within the local areas where we work and act on demand to implement culturally responsive programs that enhance the wellbeing of the wider community.

Process:

  1. Connect: We authentically engage with the young Aboriginal people participating in our programs, their families, and their community to create a bridge of open communication and mutual understanding. We connect with stakeholders in each region we serve and build a foundation for collaboration.
  2. Build Trust: By maintaining regular engagement and consistent communication with all individuals participating in our programs, we demonstrate our commitment to cultivating strong bonds of trust and creating meaningful relationships that flourish over time.
  3. Build Consciousness: Through our programs, we empower participants to embrace their strengths and weaknesses, celebrate their values and perspectives, advocate for themselves and their peers, and make more informed decisions.
  4. Overcome Challenges: Recognising that challenges are an inherent part of any endeavour, we support participants in identifying and addressing the obstacles that arise along the way. By building resilience, participants are empowered to reach their full potential.
  5. Create Opportunities & Confidence: Participants are given access to a broad range of opportunities and experiences designed to broaden their horizons, develop their skills, and cultivate unwavering confidence in their abilities. Through our efforts, we strive to unlock the potential within each person and nurture a sense of self-assurance and belief in their capabilities.
  6. Murlpirrmarra Connection: We connect the young Aboriginal people in our programs with a range of service providers based on their needs and circumstances. These providers include schools, government agencies, community groups, sporting clubs and associations, and other not for profit organisations. Our framework ensures that participants are equipped with the support and resources they need to feel empowered to complete school and pursue their aspirations.
